If you wouldn’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin – THREE DIY FACE MASKS

RAW - NATURAL - FRESH

Unless your buying all natural potions from Lush, you may be slightly horrified at some of the ingredients found in shop bought face masks. Everything we put on our skin gets absorbed into our bodies, so of course – we should try avoid nasty chemicals and toxins.

After some research and recipe trial and error I think I’ve found three of the best, and they’re made up of ingredients you can get in your average supermarket… no need for anything exotic and out of the ordinary!

For each recipe mix the ingredients in a small dish, smother on your face, leave for 10-20 mins and rinse off (pat your face dry after with a clean towel).

  • The One With Green Tea (for blotchy red cheeks)

1.5 tablespoons oatmeal

1.5 tablespoons natural yoghurt

1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon honey

2 tablespoons strongly brewed green tea

  • The One With Coffee and Cocoa (puffy face be gone)

2 tablespoons ground coffee

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

1 tablespoon honey

3 tablespoons natural yoghurt

  • The One That Smells Like Christmas (breakout preventer)

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon nutmeg

1 tablespoon cinnamon

2 teaspoons milk

 

Let me know if you try them, and how they worked out. My favourite is the Coffee and Cocoa mask – I recommend that one first!
